On June 13, the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS and the Japanese Ministry of Finance Policy Research Institute (PRI) hosted a joint conference on the political and economic future of the Bay of Bengal.
The event was held in two sessions, the first focusing on Chinese investments in South Asia, and the second on infrastructure development and cross-border connectivity between India and South Asia.
It is the second joint conference the Reischauer Center has held with the Ministry of Finance, with participants from Japan, the US, and India. From the Reischauer Center, Director Kent Calder and Professor Joshua White participated.
