Afghanistan at Work

On Monday, July 22, the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies co-sponsored the “Afghanistan at Work” Gallery walk at the Afghanistan Embassy. Ambassador Roya Rahmani, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the United States, spoke of the positive changes and entrepreneurship in Afghanistan that are bringing rays of hope to the country.

Dr. Kent Calder, Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs and International Research Cooperation at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS, reflected on the projects and positive changes he has previously discussed with Afghanistan’s foreign ministers and development leaders who have come to speak at the Reischauer Center.

Other notable speakers at the event were Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Ambassador, Greta Holtz, Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID – US Agency for International Development, Mr. Nitin Madhav, and Executive Vice President of Creative Associates International, Mr. Earl Gast.
