Dr. Junya Nishino lecture

Dr. Junya Nishino, Professor of Political Science from 慶應義塾大学大学院 / Keio University gave a lecture at the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies on March 8th to discuss the bilateral summit meeting in PyeongChang in February between Prime Minister Abe and President Moon. While 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Japan-South Korea Joint Declaration of 1998, it has been difficult for both leaders and citizens to eliminate distrust toward each other. Professor Nishino examined the current situation and provided some recommendations for how they can move forward in their bilateral relationship.
