Dr. William Brooks Academic Writing Seminar

On Thursday, September 8th, Dr. William Brooks, professor of Japan Studies at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS and senior advisor to the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies conducted an academic writing seminar for SAIS students, Visiting Scholars, and Reischauer Policy Research Fellows.

Dr. Brooks detailed various aspects of the research and writing process including topic selection, research methodology, styles of reporting, useful publications, and how to avoid unreliable sources. Students and researchers actively engaged with the discussion, highlighting their own upcoming projects, as well as research challenges and concerns.
