KAKEHASHI Project trip to Japan 2019

On January 7, 2019 eight Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, SAIS students from various concentrations embarked on the KAKEHASHI Project trip to Japan to learn about the role public diplomacy plays in the U.S.-Japan relationship.

The trip, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and jointly coordinated by the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies provided students with the opportunity to speak to academics from Japan’s leading institutions, including The University of Tokyo / UTokyo and GRIPS 政策研究大学院大学, and officials from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 東京都庁 Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Japanese Parliament.
