Professors and PhD students from Keio University visit Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies

On Monday, March 18, 2019, Mr. Dan Bob and the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies hosted professors and three PhD students from Keio University (慶應義塾大学)(けいおうぎじゅくだいがく).

The students presented their English-language academic papers and responded to questions. Ms. Chashiro, a Keio University PhD candidate, spoke on the foreign policy legacy of Senator George McGovern. Dr. Ikemiyagi, now a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Seikei University, spoke on the relationship between U.S. military deployments in Okinawa and the San Francisco Peace Treaty of 1951.

Mr. Webb, a Keio University PhD candidate, presented his theory on demographic power transition.
