On Wednesday, June 12th, Dr. William Brooks, professor of Japan Studies at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS and Senior Advisor at the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies published a book review of Sado Akihiro’s book titled, “The self-defense forces and postwar politics in Japan,” in Contemporary Japan (journal).

In his review, he discusses how Sado’s book not only provides a comprehensive history of Japan’s Self Defense Force but also illustrates the evolution of Japan’s postwar defense policies.
