On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, the Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies participated in the 6th annual Workshop on U.S.-Japan Relations.
The workshop was sponsored by the East Asian Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University and co-hosted by Dr. Kent Calder, Director of the Reischauer Center, and Dr. Erin Chung, Director of the East Asian Studies Program at JHU.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for the open exchange of ideas between undergraduates concerned with East Asian affairs and graduate students from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS, research fellows from the Reischauer Center, and Japanese government officials from the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). This year’s workshop focused on the latest developments in the US-Japan-Korea trilateral relationship and the future of East Asian energy security.
