Edwin O. Reischauer was both a pioneering scholar—in continental Asian as well as Japan Studies—and one of the first prominent academic specialists on East Asia to write for a general audience as well. Following in his tradition, the SAIS Reischauer Center publishes across a broad range of Asia-related topics, addressing both specialist and popular audiences. It supports the publication of articles, monographs, and books as well, through its Asia-Pacific Leadership Series, and its US-Japan Yearbook series.
